5th Grade Family Letter April 18, 2024
- ACRE testing will be Thursday, April 18, 2024.
Please make sure your child is on time and well rested on that day.
- Outdoor School- Monday, April 22- Wednesday, April 24
Thank you for returning the permission slips!
The total cost per student for Camp Fire Camp Killoqua for April 22-24, 2024, is $210.00. Due to the generosity of our auction donors, we are happy to announce that each student receives a subsidy from our Outdoor Education Fund for $150.00. Therefore, each student will only be charged $60.00 for this event. Adult chaperones will be charged the cost of $130 per person on their Final Site (tuition online billing account). Your account will be charged after the field trip. If this is a hardship for a family, please either contact me or the office.
Field trip information: Camp Killoqua (15207 E. Lake Goodwin, Stanwood WA)
Monday students will come to school at the normal start time.
Monday, April 22- Leave for camp from the school at 9:0 AM return Wednesday, April 24 to school around 2:00PM.
Students should have the following with them:
- Medications in a Ziploc bag with name of child, instructions on how to administer, when, and quantity. Please only send enough for the 3 days.
- If students use an inhaler or an Epi Pen, please send in a Ziploc, with the student’s name on it. The student should show it to me on Monday. I will then instruct them to keep in their daily backpack.
- Cold Sack Lunch to eat when we get to camp on the first day (no microwave available to reheat)
- Name on all belongings that pertain to your child. Masking tape works great.
What to pack:
Ø Luggage- (duffle bag or suitcase) and a small day backpack to use during the day (like a Nike shoe bag type)
*** Make sure students bring layers. We will be outside for most of the days.
Warm PJs, sweatshirt/sweater, warm coat, a few pair of socks and underwear, pants, couple of shirts (short and long sleeve) for 3 days and 2 nights.
Ø Towel and face towel/ wet wipes. (We will be camping; therefore, we will only shower in case of an emergency)
Ø Couple of closed toed shoes (tennis shoes are okay)
Ø Flip flops
Ø Trash bag for dirty clothes.
Ø Raincoat
Ø Pillow
Ø Sleeping bag or a sheet and a couple of warm blankets
Ø Toiletries: washcloth, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, hairbrush
Ø Sunscreen and bug spray
Ø Water bottle
Ø Disposable camera
- Things to leave at home: anything of value. The camp recommends no cell phones, iPod, personal gaming systems, snacks, pocketknives, curling irons, hair dryers, or anything valuable. Students are responsible for their belongings.

Homework: Holes pages 83-123 by Friday, summaries
IXL: Focus skills- Sentence Variety, Formatting, Commas, Literary Text.
