Hi 6th Grade Parents,
I hope everyone had a lovely and meaningful Easter.
This is Wellness Week. We will try to fit in extra wellness activities. On Friday we have our Jog-a-Thon at 1:30. Please make sure your child has PE clothes and shoes that day.
Tomorrow, we have an Earth Day prayer service at our Tiny Forest at 2:30.
Earth Camp permission slips will go home this week for sure! The good news is that we have enough mom chaperones! The bad news is that we still need one dad for both nights, or a dad for each night. A brother or a grandfather would do! If you have anyone in your family who can chaperone, please let me know ASAP! Camp starts two weeks from Wednesday!
Attached are the spelling words for the week. We have our test on Friday.
In social studies this week we are continuing to learn about Ancient Rome. In science we are studying plate tectonics. In 6th math we are finding the center of data sets.

7 Math – We are wrapping up surface area this week. Students have homework from their textbook tonight and will have IXL CC.1 & CC.4 due on Wednesday. Student can expect at small quiz on Wednesday as well before moving onto volume.
6 Reading – We are well into our novel, Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan. Students are discussing and making predictions. We will have one chapter of at-home reading on Wednesday. Please set aside some time for them to read.

Dear Parents,
We pray for the repose of the soul of Pope Francis. May he rest in peace.
This week sixth graders will begin a new chapter on the leaders of the Hebrew people throughout history. They will reflect on Scripture on Monday and complete a chart on leaders on Tuesday and Wednesday. The April check-in for the Service Logs will end this week. This is worth 20 points for the religion grade.
