13 days left…but who’s counting.

Thank you to everyone for giving me the privilege to know and teach your children. Our Road Trip was a wonderful success, and I am truly grateful for each and every family.

We will have a normal week with minimal interruptions, therefore we will be working hard on finishing up content and missing work.

Progress Reports!

Green Slips are coming home, please sign and return. Several students have missing work, please help support them by making a designated time and space for homework this week.

Wednesday, June 11                 10AM, Passing of the Light (8th to 7th graders)

Wednesday, June 11                  6PM, Graduation Mass

Please note – Due to MVHS graduation conflict, we have moved our 8th grade Celebration and Graduation Mass back a day.  All 7th Grade parents are to help with at least one shift at one of these evening events.

Passing of the Light, each grade presents gifts to the 8th graders and then the 8th graders pass a candle to the new leaders of the school, the 7th graders.

 

NO LATE START THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL.

Please note, there will not be a late start on Wednesday, June 18.

THIS WEEK IN SEVENTH GRADE

Reading – Today we began our next novel The Pearl, by John Steinbeck.  Students will be reading at home as well as school to get this quick novel completed before the end of the year.

 

Grammar – We will be focusing on end-of-the-year grammar review.

 

7 Math –Today we worked compound events in probability and students have homework.  We will move on to Bias and Unbiased sampling tomorrow.  Students should expect homework this week and a quiz next week.

 

Science – This week in 7th science we are studying evolution with an in depth look at The Birds of Paradise.

Religion- Dear Parents,

Seventh graders are understanding the titles for Jesus such as the New Adam, Messiah, and Redeemer.  On Monday, students partner read and created a mind map of their takeaways.  On Tuesday, they will learn about the Paschal Mystery.  They will work on a project that shows their understanding of this important doctrine.

Service Logs are due on Monday, June 9.  Seventh graders complete 6 hours of service.  Thank you for your great support in helping form young people who care about our world and the people in it.

Social Studies – We have a few more things to discuss about the Holocaust and a test soon.  WORLD has begun and those who can wage war may do so on Tuesday.

Geography –All 50 States Test will be Wednesday, June 4.

 

Writing –

 

WA State History – We are reading Chapter 6.

Quedan 13 días… pero ¿quién está contando?
Gracias a todos por el privilegio de conocer y enseñar a sus hijos. Nuestro viaje fue un gran éxito, y estoy verdaderamente agradecido por cada una de las familias.

Tendremos una semana normal con interrupciones mínimas. También estaremos trabajando arduamente en finalizar el contenido y el trabajo faltante.

¡Informes de progreso!
Las hojas verdes están llegando a casa; por favor, fírmelas y devuélvalas. Varios estudiantes tienen trabajos pendientes. Ayúdenlos esta semana estableciendo un horario y un lugar específico para hacer la tarea.

Tomen nota: debido a un conflicto con la graduación de MVHS, hemos cambiado la Celebración de Excelencia y la Misa de Graduación de 8.º grado un día más tarde.
Todos los padres de 7.º grado deben ayudar con al menos un turno en uno de estos eventos por la tarde.

Durante el evento “Passing of the Light”, cada grado presenta regalos a los estudiantes de 8.º, y luego los de 8.º entregan una vela a los nuevos líderes de la escuela, los estudiantes de 7.º grado.

ESTA SEMANA EN SÉPTIMO GRADO

Lectura – Hoy comenzamos nuestra próxima novela La perla, de John Steinbeck. Los estudiantes leerán en casa y en la escuela para terminar esta novela breve antes del fin del año.

Gramática – Nos enfocaremos en la revisión de gramática de fin de año.

Matemáticas (7.º) – Hoy trabajamos en eventos compuestos en probabilidad, y los estudiantes tienen tarea. Mañana pasaremos a muestras con sesgo y sin sesgo. Se espera que los estudiantes tengan tarea esta semana y un examen la próxima.

Ciencias – Esta semana en ciencias de 7.º estamos estudiando la evolución con un análisis profundo de Las aves del paraíso.

Religión –
Queridos padres,
Los estudiantes de séptimo están comprendiendo los títulos de Jesús como el Nuevo Adán, el Mesías y el Redentor. El lunes, leyeron en parejas y crearon un mapa mental con sus conclusiones. El martes, aprenderán sobre el Misterio Pascual. Trabajarán en un proyecto que refleje su comprensión de esta doctrina importante.
Los registros de servicio deben entregarse el lunes 9 de junio. Los estudiantes de séptimo deben completar 6 horas de servicio. Gracias por su gran apoyo en la formación de jóvenes que se preocupan por nuestro mundo y por las personas que lo habitan.

Estudios Sociales – Nos quedan algunos temas por discutir sobre el Holocausto, y pronto habrá un examen. Ya hemos comenzado con WORLD, y aquellos que puedan hacer la guerra lo harán el martes.

Geografía – El examen de los 50 estados será el miércoles 4 de junio.

Escritura –

Historia del estado de Washington – Estamos leyendo el Capítulo 6.
