THURSDAY 6/4 – Talent Show @ 12:30
FRIDAY 6/5 – Field Day – 2nd grade is responsible for bringing sliced tomato, washed lettuce.
HALL OF HISTORY UPDATE: Artifact items are due by Friday June 5. Ask your child if they have volunteered to bring something for someone else in the class to borrow. Mark your calendars for the morning of June 12 – we will present our Hall of History in the Library from 9:00am-10:15am. You are welcome to come anytime during that block of time to visit our Hall of History.
FIELD TRIP: We will be visiting the Mount Vernon Library and Tri-Dee on Monday June 15. This is a field trip in conjunction with K and 1st to learn about the summer reading program and make a fun craft.
HUMPHREY – Humphrey spent the weekend with Ezekeil. He tried fries and a milkshake and hung from a ceiling fan.
Things we are learning:
Phonics: _le syllables: kle, ple, sle, zle, tle
Reading: point of view, 1st person, 3rd person, nonfiction: Sleepy Cats & Wild Cats
Vocabulary: evade, intriguing, confess, mope, scurry, vaguely
Writing: Fractured Fairy Tale, Hall of History posters
Math: decompose arrays and relate to a number bond, even numbers, odd numbers
Religion: Ways to Pray
Special projects: gifts for 8th grade students, Father’s Day gifts

JUEVES 6/4 – Show de Talentos a las 12:30 p.m.
VIERNES 6/5 – Día de Campo – Segundo grado es responsable de traer tomate rebanado y lechuga lavada.
ACTUALIZACIÓN DEL SALÓN DE LA HISTORIA: Los objetos (“artefactos”) deben entregarse antes del viernes 5 de junio. Pregúntele a su hijo/a si se ofreció como voluntario para prestar algo a otro compañero de la clase. Marquen en sus calendarios la mañana del 12 de junio: presentaremos nuestro Salón de la Historia en la biblioteca de 9:00 a.m. a 10:15 a.m. Están cordialmente invitados a visitarnos en cualquier momento durante ese horario.
EXCURSIÓN: Visitaremos la Biblioteca de Mount Vernon y Tri-Dee el lunes 15 de junio. Esta excursión será junto con Kindergarten y 1.º grado para aprender sobre el programa de lectura de verano y realizar una manualidad divertida.
HUMPHREY – Humphrey pasó el fin de semana con Ezekeil. Probó papas fritas y un batido, y se colgó de un ventilador de techo.
Lo que estamos aprendiendo:

Lectura: punto de vista, primera persona, tercera persona, textos informativos: Sleepy Cats y Wild Cats
Vocabulario: evadir, intrigante, confesar, estar triste, corretear, vagamente
Escritura: cuentos de hadas modificados (Fractured Fairy Tales), carteles para el Salón de la Historia
Matemáticas: descomponer arreglos y relacionarlos con un vínculo numérico (number bond), números pares e impares
Religión: formas de orar
Proyectos especiales: regalos para los estudiantes de 8.º grado y regalos para el Día del Padre
