Dear First Grade Parents:

This week we will:

  • Read “Me on the Map”
  • Practice Math Fact Families
  • Subtract 3 in Math timed tests
  • Turn over the “Hawk” sound card
  • Read about Martin Luther King Jr.
  • Write a paragraph
  • Read stories about balance and motion
  • Share about family meals
  • Share vacation pictures

 

  • Noon dismissal on Friday, January 20th! 

 

  • Students are being tested on the prayer “Glory Be” and the second quarter high frequency word list.  Please practice at home.

 

  • We are reading numbers to 500 this month.  Please review them at home and continue to practice basic math facts.

 

  • Catholic Schools Week begins on the weekend of the 28th.  Parents may come and eat lunch with their kids at 12:00 on Monday, Jan. 30th.  The daily schedule for Catholic Schools Week is attached to the back of the page. 

 

  • The end of the second quarter is January 27th.  Report cards will come home the following Thursday, Feb. 3rd.

 

  • Please bring an empty cereal box to school for us to decorate for valentines.  We need them as soon as possible!  Thanks!

 

  • We will only do one timed test a week from now on, so next week we will be on minus 3.  I will put a review sheet in the homework folder weekly.
